Rant number 250
In the past, I've made clear my thoughts on the Soldiers in the far east. I think that the soldiers are brave people who risk their lives, but I think that the assholes who keep them there are complete scum.
We spend millions on keeping them out there in the far east, where they are unwanted - in the name of 'peace keeping.'
I hate that term, 'peace keeping.' It's a good way of disguising 'war,' except it isn't all out shoot the bad guys - no it's dirtier and nastier. You see, when you are in the 'peace keeping' stage of a war, and your men are on the side of the 'goodies,' you need to play very fair - which makes them really vulnerable.
You see, whatever people say, in the peace keeping stage, you haven't won a war. Your governments have just decided stop bashing each other quite so directly. Whatever governments say however, they can't change the way that people think or feel - so the war continues under the surface tacet but dirty.
The reason I'm back on the subject, is the issue of 'Green on Blue.' This is code for trainee 'police' and 'peace keepers' turning on those who are training them.
Which frankly, is fucking disgusting.
The soldiers are in a dangerous position. They're an unwanted nuisance to the locals - and they have a frankly thankless task. Luckily however, they get to pull out soon - in 2014 on the proviso that they have trained local forces to keep the peace.
That's all very well, but maybe - just maybe, they don't want to be trained to be our bitches? Maybe they just want to get close to our soldiers, like the bloody cowards they are?
Either way, we should just pull our people out of there, and leave the scumbags to their own devices.

Rant 142 21/5/12 Subject: The consequences of bad decisions
Rant number 142
Back when I was a naive, bright eyed, bushy tailed youth at college. The government decided to back up the Americans and go to war.
Most of us really didn't want them to, but George bush said it was a good idea - so Tony Blair said that this was what we should do.
Its now been nearly 11 years since it began, lots of people have died - very little has really been accomplished and finally there is talk of putting our tails between our legs and getting out of there.
As far as I'm concerned, its about bloody time. The Americans we followed in have already called it a day and are getting out of their in order to avoid any further embarrassment.
The thing is though, that we aren't just pulling troops out. We can't admit you see that we were an occupying and unwanted force - that would be uncouth. We have to be 'a peace keeping force' and try our hardest to fix all of the problems before we go.
That they didn't want us to fix their problems is nothing to do with it. That our solution is mainly to shoot people isn't either. We are a piece keeping force - and it doesn't matter how many of our men we have to sacrifice. We must save face.
So instead of pulling troops out, we need an 'exit strategy;' which is a pretty way of saying we can stretch it out until 2014. Saving face along the way.
But it gets better.
David Cameron is now announced that we will be donating 90 million pounds following this to help the government in place. Aren't we fucking generous?
Personally, I would really prefer that money to go to the NHS, to the Police, to the pension deficit. Fuck it - I'd prefer it to go anywhere except somewhere we've spent the last 11 years wasting money on.
We didn't win the war, we don't have to feel guilty. We've tried to make things better for them - we've failed. Lets cut our losses hey?
How can we condone this kind of waste of time, of money and most of all of life. If David Cameron wants to look good in front of the world leaders and is willing to sacrifice young lives for the purpose - he's even worse a human being than I consider him to be. His life is worth nothing compared to those willing to fight for what they believe in - because he believes in nothing - except for greed, and power and his own pathetic neck.
We should just cut our losses and let them get on with it. We definitely shouldn't be propping them up!
We have won nothing and lost so much. Brave men and women to you and me, but dots and numbers to people like him. It makes me sick.

Rant 68 - 08/3/12 Subject: An endless and unfair war
Rant number 68
Today, another tragedy of war has been all over the news. Six more of our brave boys have paid the ultimate sacrifice in order to make others lives easier.
I hate war, but can't help but respect and honor anyone who risks their own lives every day in order that others lives may be saved, my anger is not for these boys (5 of the 6 who have died hadn't even made it to 21!) but for the idiots who still put their lives at risk.
That we are in Afghanistan at all is a mystery to me after all this time. The war has been a bloody mess, with multiple casualties from the very beginning, and we cannot win a war where the people we are trying to help are also sympathising with those who want to murder us.
I hate it so much. We waltzed in - belt and braces, to back up the Americans. To save them from themselves and to solve it all - but 10 years later, our soldiers are still being killed - and it is a waste.
Why can't we just pull out now? Say enough is enough - sort yourselves out now. They don't want us to be there, its costing our struggling country a fortune and, by advent of the fact that these things are still happening 11 years hence - just isn't working.
In the war rooms and the government offices, those of privilege, thousands of miles from any real danger - look at the facts and figures and decide that its still worth while. We are winning territory and - supposedly putting in place a worthy government with 'minimal casualties.'
Because thats the kind of language you get from these cotton wool wrapped bastards.
They forget that any one of their 'minimal casualties' is someone's son, daughter, mum, dad, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin or friend.
Taking todays figures into account, UK deaths in his un-winnable war have hit 404. All blood spilt in the name of an unreachable ideal.
Yes, we may have taken some scalps in the name of this. Yes we may have won some small battles - but the war is not one you can win. According to figures online, the total casualties for the coalition come to a genuinely startling 2765 (as of December last year.) That's like a whole town being wiped off the map.
What a sad waste.
And that's just the guys on our side - not to mention the civilians.
If anyone in power comes across this rant. I have a message for you - stark and clear.
Get them out
