Rant number 353
How on earth, is this shit still in the news now? It was bastarding months ago.
For anyone who has just been released from jail/has just emerged from a Coma, this all begun rather a while ago.
A guy called Andrew Mitchell wanted to go out of the main gates on downing street on his bicycle, because he's like - so too important to use the gates right?
The policemen guarding the gates - not surprisingly said something along the lines of 'use the gate please' to which Andrew Mitchell had a bit of a tantrum - apparently culminating in him calling them Plebs.
He's since been sacked - and quite right too. If you want the public to be respectful to your police force - you should probably try and be respectful to them too.
That's not actually what I'm bothered about to be honest.
What irks me is two things:
A) Them calling it Plebgate - which is very irritating.
B) The fact that its still in the news.
I quite frankly don't really care about the story - and don't expect it to be carrying on so long. Andrew Mitchell has many times said he didn't call the policemen Plebs however - he seems to be quite tightlipped on exactly what was said. Now also - he's trying to turn it back on the coppers for lying about it. Just drop it! It should have been over with now.
Everyone knows that the tories are out of touch bastards who think we are indeed plebs, commoners, peasants etc etc. Chasing these stupid stories does nothing to solve things.
It's not like him being gone is going to make things better. They'll just replace him with another arsehole. That's how things like this are.
Frankly, I'm a bit pissed off of hearing about it now! There had better be some new news tomorrow!

Rant 350 15/12/12 Subject: Space Invaders
Rant number 350
Now, to begin with - I want to make it very clear that I don't have a problem with the vintage space invaders - those pixillated alien monsters don't annoy me terribly (except when they get near the bottom of the screen and go super fast - the bastards!)
No, I'm talking about people who have no perception or respect for other peoples personal space. Its one of the rudest characteristics of the more chavvy classes and general stupid people.
Today - I was carolling in the supermarket, and people wouldn't walk an extra 25cm out of their way in order to not walk into the area where my trombone slide was going.
My trombone is one of my most prized possessions - and it would be very dangerous indeed to walk into it. Either people are too fucking lazy or are too 'cool' to go out of their way by a footstep or people can't look where they are going. Either way - they are fucking idiots.
It's a constant annoyance to me - the way people behave in public. You don't need to be an ignorant arsehole to be respected. You just look like a douchebag.
Most irritating indeed!

Rant 239 26/8/12 Subject: Tv signal
Rant number 239
Back when I was a kid, there were 4 channels. The chances as such, that something you wanted to see was on were pretty slim. None the less, at the right times I could glue my childish nose to the curved glass.
Back then however, there was always a problem with signal. It was fuzzy, it jumped, it bled into noise etc. None the less, it was generally possible to watch it like this, because everyone was used to it and because we knew no better
Then someone came up with digital broadcasting, which made the signal crystal clear - most of the time.
The problem is now however, that the signal is either on or off (the very definition of digital after all!)
As such, something like the weather can break up the signal into square blocks. It can also make the TV signal stutter, leave ghost trails and other oddments.
It really does get on your nerves when you are trying to watch something and the signal is degraded by some kind of outside interference. Traffic, rain, wind and fog can all mess with the signal and there really is bugger all to do about it!
Other than getting cable, which I can't - and I probably wouldn't if I could, because I don't really watch enough TV!
None the less, when I do pop something on to watch, I don't want it to be breaking up in the middle of what I'm watching.
Last week, I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark with added screen breaks and skips and dialogue break up. Needless to say, it did not add to my enjoyment of Indy's fantastic adventures (and misadventures.) It almost ruined it in fact.
I even tried moving the aerial, then tried moving it again, then again. Then eventually after that failed, it just sorted itself out!
How irritating!
