Rant number 347
Today is the 12th of December 2012, or as some like to put it 12/12/12
My god, it's like the fucking twin peaks!
Not the date you understand - that's a load of crap, it's the idiots who try and find significance in these things, as if there isn't anything important going on in the world.
To start with, 12/12/12 took place a thousand years ago - and I doubt it was significant even then. People always miss out the first two digits to prove their point though and that's really annoying.
Then lets look at the dates in general. It's only been 2012 years since they started counting the modern way. The calendar goes back well before people started counting - so we don't actually have a clue what the date happens to be. Either way, no date is at all special or magic.
The world is going to end because we finally blow it up or because an asteroid hits the earth or something. Things aren't going to stop operating on the 21st of this month - just because the Mayans didn't think about the calendar in several thousand years. And they didn't count leap years either.
So there.
