Rant number 141
Yesterday, I popped into town for a couple of bits and pieces. I've already talked about how much I hate going into town on a Saturday. It seems that Saturday town folk have no sense of personal space, or of even basic common sense.
That isn't my annoyance at this point however.
No, what got to me yesterday was the stupid things that people were wearing. What on earth has happened to peoples brains.
First of all, I saw a boy in parachute pants.
Yes, you did read that right: a boy (male human) was wearing parachute pants.
Now last time I checked we have not been in the 80s for around 22 years - and even then the fad was stupid.
I really do despair of people who insist on looking so daft. Unless you are MC Hammer- you just can't pull it off!
Then there are the girls who walk around the streets wearing see-thru clothes out in the open in the middle of the day. I might sound like a bit of a granddad here - but I really don't think its terribly appropriate for some 14 year old tart to be showing herself off in this way. Why not just cut out the middle man and get 'slut' tattooed on your forehead?
Your parents must be very proud.
Then there are the fads that simply perplex me such as crocs and ugg boots. I think these both just look awful - and the latter cost a fortune. I think that some evil fashion based organisation out there somewhere is having a proper laugh at the excuse of the people who buy this stuff!
Parents: you need to stop letting your kids dress themselves!
