Rant number 149
I've decided to make it a two day olympic bashing session. I'm sure I could even make it 3 if I really tried!
What really is the big deal with the torch. So much pomp and circumstance but really so little substance.
The flame has amazingly come all the way from Greece in a golden plane attached to David Beckham.
Big blood whoop! I've been to Athens and guess what - the fire there is just the same as it is here! Its not being paraded around, person to person torch to torch around the land.
Now don't get me wrong, I respect the people who are doing it, the Athletes, those who raise money for charity, the sportsman. Its great and all that.
I just don't get why it needs to be on the bloody news. I know that the torch is being dragged around the country because I have already been told. I know that it is coming near my house - because there are signs up to tell me. I don't need the news to tell me every day. I'd really rather hear about something else.
Is there really so little else going on? I mean really?
I'd only really consider it newsworthy if something out of the ordinary took place. If for instance someone accidentally dropped his torch into a wishing well - I might find that entertaining. If someone accidentally set Ant and Dec on fire with one of the torches before beating them to death with it: I really would like to be the first to know. If it's business as usual though - I think that I'm pretty happy to know that its happening without being reminded 4 times a bloody day.
My attention span isn't that oh look a Badger
